They had no water or food with them and their health was in poor health: 334 migrants were rescued from a single truck in Mexico.
Soldiers and police heard cries for help and knocks from the truck's hold at a checkpoint in Cosamaloapan in the eastern state of Veracruz, the immigration authorities said.
Because there was no ventilation, many of them had symptoms of suffocation, the message said.
Accordingly, there were also children among the migrants.
Just two weeks ago, Mexican soldiers discovered a total of 652 Central American migrants in sealed refrigerated chambers in the trailers of three articulated trucks.
Most of the migrants apprehended in Mexico try to get to the United States.
Around 192,000 migrants were caught attempting to cross the border illegally on the US southern border with Mexico in September.
In the entire US fiscal year 2021, from October 2020 to the end of September, 1.73 million people were apprehended.
That was an all-time high.
In the same period last year there were 458,000.
