Another medal for Italy arrives from the Track Cycling World Championships underway in Roubaix.
Elia Viviani won it in bronze in the Omnium, a specialty in which the blue flag bearer at the Tokyo Games was Olympic champion in Rio 2016. Gold went to the British Ethan Hayter (180 points), who won three out of four races, silver to New Zealander Aaron Gate (124).
Previously Italy had obtained two fourth places with Martina Alzini in pursuit and with Barbieri-Paternoster in the Americana.
