"

Several reasons made us want to work with the Atelier des Lumières,"

explains Philippe Collot of CNES, who collaborated in the development of the exhibition

. It is a place attached to both heritage and modernity, it corresponds quite well to our itinerary which honors pioneers and innovation. In space there is neither top nor bottom and 360 degree projections correspond fairly well to reality. But beyond the technological prowess, we hope that it also generates emotion among the public.

"

On the strength of these ambitions,

Destination Cosmos

offers a show that is a sensory experience.

In forty minutes, thirteen sequences, made up of more than eight hundred images, photos or archives from CNES and NASA, guide visitors from the Kourou space base to the far reaches of the universe.

An eclectic soundtrack ranging from classical music to the Rolling Stones, passing by David Bowie or the haunting music of Woodkid, will accompany the visit throughout.

Plunged into darkness, the visitor sees a starry sky come alive where the constellations are drawn.

After a series of screenings devoted to pioneering civilizations in astronomy, cult archive images, such as Armstrong's footprint on the moon, illustrate man's conquest of space and its political challenges.

Suddenly, a countdown starts and the visitor finds himself enveloped in the smoke of the reactors of a rocket taking off.

Astronaut for a night, he climbs into orbit.

Takeoff before orbit.

The scenography then interweaves moments of fullness and intense sequences leaving the visitor dumbfounded.
