(ANSA) - PALERMO, 24 OCT - In 1969 two of the most important experts in museography, applied to their respective fields of action, the landscape architect Pietro Porcinai and the architect Franco Minissi, were invited by the then superintendent of cultural heritage to western Sicily Vincenzo Tusa, to redesign the boundaries and the "reading" of the archaeological park of Selinunte. Which at the beginning of the seventies was in a state of complete decay, a constant victim of grave robbers, with a carriage road that crossed it. All this despite Selinunte was already indicated as the largest archaeological area in Europe. Vincenzo Tusa, one of the best-known Sicilian archaeologists, promotes the museum project of Porcinai and Minissi whose construction and commissioning has many troubles. "However, its historical importance remains a point of reference and from the new concept carried out in recent months, the philological and functional restoration project of the most representative museographic solutions is born, starting from the Trident, which contains three absolutely unpublished directions of the Park. still today "as underlined by the director of the Archaeological Park of Selinunte Bernardo Agrò, who strongly wanted it together with the improvement activities and the quality of the museum offer, activating a continuous comparison with the territory.which includes three directions of the Park itinerary which are absolutely unpublished even today "as underlined by the director of the Archaeological Park of Selinunte Bernardo Agrò who strongly wanted it together with the improvement and quality activities of the museum offer, activating a continuous comparison with the territory.which includes three directions of the Park itinerary which are absolutely unpublished even today "as underlined by the director of the Archaeological Park of Selinunte Bernardo Agrò who strongly wanted it together with the improvement and quality activities of the museum offer, activating a continuous comparison with the territory.

"All Sicilian archaeological parks are experiencing a renaissance. We are working on a new concept of visit, which combines the profound historical meanings and knowledge of the sites with an emotional experience - intervenes the regional councilor for cultural heritage and Sicilian identity , Alberto Samonà -. The Selinunte park is also involved in this and other important projects, which aim to enhance a unique site that we want to become a reference point for the cultural offer of the Mediterranean ".

The new structure was presented during the tenth edition of "Architects meet in Selinunte", the days of discussion in which a hundred architects from all over Italy participated and which have just ended in Selinunte. This year the international conference of the Aiac (Italian Association of Architecture and Critics) directed by Luigi Prestinenza Puglisi, addresses the issue of the consequences to architecture starting from its main objective: to be the bearer of well-being and therefore of happiness. And precisely to respond to these premises, the project by Porcinai and Minissi from 1969 is resumed and adapted. to be transported in the "sounds "of antiquity.

The idea is to immerse the public in a rarefied and timeless atmosphere, through the recovery of simple elements: the colors, the smells, the noises of a non-artificial reality. Interactivity and storytelling will instead be the most important components for the redevelopment of the museum system of the monumental area. Modern multimedia devices are being designed to make the viewer relive the daily life of the Greeks, the activities, the habits of the urban settlement. In collaboration with CoopCulture, concessionaire of the services of the Archaeological Park, the reception facilities, the ticket office are being adapted and the recovery of the routes through the so-called Trident is being promoted. The new sensorial-perceptive "Light" project by Mario Nanni is also very innovative, entirely played on the visitor's "personal" sensations. We will go step by step: the project foresees a rather low level of light intensity at the entrance, a soft light that follows the natural one; just as the human eye tends to slowly get used to darkness or light, also in Selinunte it will start from a maximum intensity in the early evening, to then decrease it gradually, until it goes out in the night. (HANDLE).until it dies out in the night. (HANDLE).until it dies out in the night. (HANDLE).
