In the case of the 14-year-olds killed in Munich, investigators have announced new details.
The girl was probably stabbed to death in her sleep, as the prosecution and police announced at a press conference.
The act took place on Sunday night in the girl's parents' house in the Denning district of Munich.
Suspect is the girl's 17-year-old friend.
He was arrested on Monday morning at the Munich S-Bahn station Pasing.
The suspect had two knives with him when he was arrested.
It is still unclear whether this included the murder weapon.
The young person is brought before the investigating judge in the afternoon.
He has not yet given an interrogation, but the 17-year-old has already been instructed as a suspect.
"We assume a deliberate homicide," said Juliane Grotz, spokeswoman for the Munich I public prosecutor. "We assume a murder out of treachery." The girl was innocent and defenseless.
Presumably, the 14-year-old slept in the act.
Suspect should be assessed psychiatrically
The police and the public prosecutor did not want to comment on the possible motive.
"The 14-year-old and the 17-year-old were in a relationship - at least on a friendly basis," said Stephan Beer, the head of the Munich homicide squad.
“The 17-year-old also stayed in his parents' house again and again.
Both went into the common room the night before. "
According to Grotz, there are indications that the suspect may have “a psychological problem”.
But that would have to be clarified by a psychiatric assessment.
The 17-year-old from the Munich district has not yet been noticed by the police.
The dead girl was found in the morning by her own mother, who also notified the rescue workers.
Attempts to revive the youngsters were unsuccessful.
