Bake “eat you stupid” cake: It's that easy
Grease a baking sheet with butter.
Preheat the oven to 180 ° C top / bottom heat.
For the shortcrust pastry
, put the butter and sugar in a bowl and stir both with the hand mixer until creamy. Add the pinch of salt and egg and stir again. Then sift in the flour and baking powder and stir everything with the dough hook. Finally, knead the dough with your hands until it is smooth and roll it out on a floured work surface the size of the baking sheet. Lift the dough onto the baking sheet and squeeze it with your hands until the bottom of the sheet is covered. Prick the bottom a few times with a fork and bake in the oven for about 15 minutes. Then let it cool down.
For the pudding cream,
mix the starch and pudding powder with some of the milk.
Boil the rest of the milk in a saucepan with sugar and vanilla sugar, add the custard powder mixture and stir well.
Finally stir in the butter.
Then pour the pudding onto the shortcrust pastry base and smooth it out.
For the topping,
melt the butter in a pan, add the sugar and let it caramelize.
Add the nuts, stirring frequently so that they are all covered.
Spread the caramelized nuts on the pudding layer and press them in a little.
Roughly chop and melt the couverture and pour it in strips all over the cake.
Let the "eat-you-stupid" cake cool down.
When the cake has cooled, you can cut it into pieces and serve.
You will see: it goes away like hot cakes.
Bon Appetit!
