forbidding residents to leave the house except in an emergency. The restrictions matured when the National Health Commission, in its daily updates, reported another 29 internal infections counted on Monday, including 6 in Lanzhou. City officials, in a statement, warned that "residents' entry and exit" will be strictly controlled and limited to essential supplies or medical care, urging all residents to strictly follow the rules. The latest outbreak of Covid-19 has been confirmed in the contagious Delta variant, with the count now rising to about 200 cases across the country since October 17, the day of ascertained positivity in a group of tourists who flew from Shanghai to Xi 'an and then in Gansu and Inner Mongolia.Health officials have also warned that more infections could emerge in the coming days, as tests will be stepped up as a further measure to combat the spread of the infection.
