"Now I want to think a little about myself, enjoy my family. Then, one day, I'd like to go back to my job. Hope is always the same." Daniela Poggiali, who has returned to freedom since yesterday after being acquitted of the accusations of killing two of her elderly patients, has as a future plan to return to being a nurse. "This affair brought me pain, but it did not take away the belief that I am a good nurse and that I can do my job again, as I did before", said the woman on the phone with ANSA, who is was disbarred for photos taken with a 102-year-old patient who died.
"I feel good, I have been in my family. I am slowly regaining possession of my freedom and that incredible flavor that freedom has after more than ten months locked up in a prison," she adds. She was in custody since Christmas Eve 2020. Poggiali said she is resuming "normal everyday things, I'm slowly trying to get back into my daily life".
"I always thank good justice. I had the opportunity to feel it in Bologna, to have proof of it. I am only sorry that if this affair had been handled differently by the ASL and the Ravenna Public Prosecutor's Office at this time I would not have been painted as the serial killer and perhaps I would not even have ended up on trial in court ", the woman underlines and then specifies" however - she tells ANSA - I always trust in good justice and therefore I trust that the judge makes good reasons, so that we can put an end to this story ".
