The traffic jam is "extraordinarily long": trucks are parked for more than 50 kilometers on the motorway in the direction of Kufstein. The cause is apparently the block handling

Due to block processing, an extraordinary traffic jam has formed between the south of Munich and the Austrian border.

On the A93 between Rosenheim and Kufstein-Nord there is an almost 50 kilometer long truck traffic jam.

Because of a traffic accident on the Austrian side, the backwater goes on the A93 to the A8 Höhe Holzkirchen, said a police spokesman.

The traffic jam is "exceptionally long today".

Motorists also made slow progress.

According to ADAC, Austria wants to use block handling to prevent truck traffic from congesting on the A12 Inntal motorway and in the Innsbruck area.

For this purpose, a so-called dossier point is set up, through which a limited number of trucks can drive per hour.

This is the case, for example, when truck drivers wait on the German side because of a public holiday in Austria and drive off almost simultaneously after the truck driving ban has expired.

For this, one accepts traffic obstructions in Germany, according to the ADAC.
