(ANSA) - MADRID, OCTOBER 27 - One of the jets of lava ejected from the Cumbre Vieja volcano in La Palma (Canary Islands) has reached a height of 600 meters: this was reported by the Institute of Volcanology of the archipelago (Involcan) by publishing a video on social networks shot yesterday. Experts and authorities have made it known that the volcano's activity was particularly intense, coningent lava flows that flow along already existing flows, increasing their height. Other images published by the Involcan also show large quantities of steam and ash ejected from the volcano and moments of greater explosive activity alternating with others that are quieter.
The seismic activity related to the eruption raises some concern, in particular among the inhabitants of La Palma: in the last few hours at least four tremors with a magnitude of more than 4.0 (the strongest of 4.9) have been recorded, all with depths greater than 30 kilometers.
