Franca Lehfeldt and Christian Lindner: "Overjoyed"

FDP boss Christian Lindner and RTL reporter Franca Lehfeldt want to get married.
They got engaged with friends and family in mid-September on the occasion of Lehfeldt's 32nd birthday, reports RTL.
Lehfeldt, chief reporter for politics magazine at RTL News, and Lindner, federal chairman of the Liberals, have been a couple since 2018.
The wedding should take place next year, it is said.
"We are overjoyed," said Lehfeldt.
"Since we are both in public, it is important to me to emphasize that I have my own views in my private life and that I am independent as a journalist." She deals transparently with her private life and has therefore not reported on the FDP in the past.
Lindner said it was completely clear to him that his fiancée had a job and a mind of her own.
"I don't love her because she agrees with me, but because she has one of her own."
The politician is currently in coalition talks with his party with the SPD and the Greens in order to form a federal government.
Lindner is considered a candidate for the office of finance minister.
