The works of antiquity relive through the voices of the singer-songwriter Edoardo De Angelis and some young actors (ANSA)

(by Giorgiana Cristalli) - And if the funerary stele of Bassilla preserved in the Archaeological Museum of Aquileia or the head of Caligula in the JJ Winckelmann Museum of Antiquity in Trieste began to speak?

Or what if the spouses in the sarcophagus of the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome were talking to each other?

What stories would they tell us?

The project

Even the statues speak

was born with the intention of linking past and future, archeology and technology. It is a real journey back in time, of an expressive and artistic type, for the benefit of a public not used to visiting antiquity museums: a journey through the most important works of the museums involved that tell us their history through the voice of young actors under 35 and singers. The recordings remain available to the museum districts that insert them in their audio broadcasting systems for the benefit of the public, with particular regard to the

blind and visually impaired

who

can thus know and appreciate the stories and legends that lie behind the masterpieces

.

Even the statues speak began its journey on 9 October with an absolute preview at

the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia in Rome

where

three reruns

are scheduled for

30 October

at 3, 4.30 and 6 pm

.

The museum archaeologist, Vittoria Lecce, will lead the visits with the young actors Irena Goloubeva and Alessandro Lupi and with Edoardo De Angelis, 'voice' of the works.

The lyrics are written by Edoardo De Angelis himself, one of the best-known names of the Italian songwriter who sings songs closely linked to the 'history' of the statues in some stages of the journey.

The most significant works were given voice by the young actors Silvia Morigi and Alessandro Lupi.

The project, financed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and organized by ACCulturArti in partnership with the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, kicks off with the animation of some ancient masterpieces preserved in the aforementioned museums of

Aquileia, Trieste and Rome

, but also in the archaeological museum of

Udine

, in the Egyptian museum of

Munich

(in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Munich) and in the national museum and in the Lombard Temple of

Cividale del Friuli

(UD).

In each museum involved there will be a live show with a duration of about 60 minutes, with subsequent replicas.
