After the anti-Semitism allegations of the musician Gil Ofarim, the Hotel Westin Leipzig announced last week that the affected employees were relieved after an investigation by a law firm.
Now, "Die Zeit" reports, citing the law firm's final report, that none of the witnesses questioned heard an anti-Semitic insult.
Ofarim's chain with a Star of David was not mentioned in the hotel lobby.
Rather, the musician had come into conflict with an employee of the hotel because, in Ofarim's opinion, he had given preferential treatment to other people.
The 39-year-old singer is said to have threatened to upload a video on Instagram that would "go viral".
According to the firm's report, two employees and three guests are said to have described the scene like this, writes "Die Zeit".
Ofarim did not comment on the findings when asked, the report says.
The singer last defended his version, even after images from the surveillance cameras increased doubts.
Ofarim said in a video on Instagram in early October that he had become a victim of anti-Semitic hostility.
A Westin employee asked him to wrap his necklace with a Star of David on it.
Otherwise he is not allowed to check in.
The hotel employee reported Ofarim for defamation, Ofarim filed two criminal charges against the man.
The chain with the Star of David could not be seen in the video images published by "Bild am Sonntag".
Ofarim, however, stuck to his description: »I had the chain on all the way through.
I don't understand why there is now a debate about whether I was wearing the chain or not, ”he told SPIEGEL.
He therefore also considers it conceivable that the insults occurred because he regularly shows himself in public with the chain.
In addition, not all pictures have been published.
The investigation of the Leipzig public prosecutor's office in the case is ongoing.
