2021-10-27T12:20:14.130Z

Composed during the pandemic, the album features three collaborations dear to the Caen rapper: Gringe and Skread, longtime friends, as well as The Neptunes, Pharrell Williams' original group.

The latest episode of

Show Never That To Anyone

, the documentary series devoted to Orelsan, built on twenty years of archival footage, could not be more explicit.

We see him devoting his days to music, at a time when the pandemic was gaining ground.

His fourth album, called

Civilization

, is ready.

The Caen rapper unveils the visual as well as the titles of the fifteen songs that compose it.

It will be released on November 19.

For the more observant, Orelsan had actually already presented this new project as a watermark. On October 5, he announced to perform on stage from January 15, 2022. The tour crosses France and includes a date in Belgium and Switzerland. The promotional poster is accompanied by a flag, which is found just as prominent on the cover of the disc. The illustration of the latter is signed Alice Moitié, photographer already in demand for the albums of Alpha Wann, Lomepal or Sopico.

Of the fifteen titles, only three are the subject of a collaboration and do not arise from chance. Gringe is invited to

Casseurs Flowters Infinity

, a nod to their duo formed in 2000, which will lead to a first album in 2013, soberly named

Orelsan and Gringe are the Casseurs Flowters

. His loyal producer Skread, present on the rapper's first three albums, goes behind the microphone for

Ensemble

. Finally, The Neptunes, original group of Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, musical reference for Orelsan, join him on the song

Last Glass

.

The album is available for pre-order Friday at 10 a.m.

“We did a slightly cool concept.

We worked with Regular on fifteen different concepts of the CD, related to the fifteen titles,

”announces Orelsan in a video posted on Twitter.

Each is limited to a different number of copies.

For example, the CD

La Quête,

in reference to the second track of the album, is produced only 500 pieces, each signed by Orelsan.

Civilization will

only be released in three weeks, but the Zénith in Caen as well as the fourth date at the Accor Arena in Paris are already full.

Orelsan apparently missed his audience.
