The unions lifted Wednesday the call for a strike by SNCF TGV Atlantique drivers launched for the weekend of All Saints' Day, AFP learned from SUD-Rail and CFDT-Cheminots who had called for this strike with the CGT-Cheminots.
This call to strike from Friday noon until Monday noon was lifted after new negotiations "until late Tuesday evening" and a consultation of employees on Wednesday, said Erik Meyer, Federal Secretary of SUD-Rail.
After a first strike last weekend, which led to the cancellation by SNCF of one TGV Atlantique out of ten on Friday, two out of ten trains on Saturday and one out of three on Sunday, "the notice is lifted by the three trade unions, ”Thomas Cavel, general secretary of the CFDT-Cheminots told AFP.
Raising premiums, an expected first step
This Monday, however, the organizations reiterated their call in the face of the "failure" of negotiations with management on working conditions and remuneration.
"Our leaders do not measure the concern and the discomfort of the drivers", then underlined the three unions in their leaflet, pointing to "amateurism" and "muddled" explanations of the management of their establishment.

The unions note in their leaflet that "the increase in premiums would be a first step taken to finally show a desire for appeasement on the part of (their) management".
In a previous leaflet, they had denounced the “disorganization” of their establishment and protested against “very degraded”, “always longer” working days, with “a drop in average remuneration”.
They also protested against "the decline in the workforce", which leads to "refusal of leave", and demanded "the maintenance of the number of lines".
