The British ex-police officer, convicted of the murder of Londoner Sarah Everard, has appealed his life sentence.
A spokesman for the competent court of appeal confirmed receipt of a corresponding application.
The case had sparked a heated debate over women's safety and the internal police security regime.
As a police officer, Wayne Couzens arrested the 33-year-old in March in the London borough of Clapham on a pretext, then raped and killed her.
In September, the 48-year-old, who has since been released from the police force, was sentenced to life imprisonment.
As a result, the British government promised increased nightly police patrols and more money for public safety.
The Ministry of the Interior launched an investigation into "systematic errors" aimed at preventing such a case from happening again.
The London police, for their part, announced measures to better protect women.
