The G20 "must act urgently to ensure universal access to vaccines, therapies and tests against Covid and set commitments for a recovery plan" that is "inclusive and resilient", based on "social dialogue, with the aim of a fairer development model that invests in quality, dignified and climate-friendly employment ": these are some of the passages of the Final Declaration of Labor 20, approved by the trade unions of the G20 countries, which will be illustrated at the Summit of Heads of State and government of the twenty largest economies in the world, gathered in Rome on 30 and 31 October.

The document contains "workers' demands to distribute prosperity to people and protect the planet" and among other things draws attention to universal "social protection, also making use for this purpose of a Global Fund for Social Protection, in equal treatment and opportunities "and" inclusive economies for full and dignified employment ". To contain and mitigate the pandemic, the Italian (Cgil, Cisl and Uil), European (Ces) and international (Ituc and Tuac) trade union confederations are asking to finance the commitments for a "global plan" of vaccination against Covid-19 and, for this reason, to "immediately support the request for a Trips waiver to temporarily suspend the intellectual property rights for vaccines, therapies and tests against Covid-19, as proposed by India and South Africa to the World Trade Organization, so that production can be increased with a reduction in costs ". On the labor front, they ask the leaders of the G20 to take steps "for a human-centered approach and for a recovery that can offer decent work for all" and therefore to "present recovery plans for employment, in dialogue with the social partners, to create quality and climate-friendly jobs, supported by a vital minimum wage and collective bargaining ", guaranteeing fundamental rights at work and health and safety" for all ". And also" to achieve full employment through investment in active labor policies ".an inclusive, resilient and climate-friendly recovery ", the Heads of State and Government of the G20, reads the Labor Declaration20," must abandon a framework of austerity and undertake commitments regarding public investments ". to "put an end to international tax evasion and avoidance practices and set a minimum global corporate tax of at least 25%". Among the points also that of "reducing inequalities" and achieving a "just transition" towards a digital economy and zero carbon emissions, fulfilling the ambitions set by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement on climate.the Labor Declaration20 continues, "they must abandon a framework of austerity and undertake commitments in the field of public investments".
