Covid-19: more than 1,000 people in critical care, the epidemic is once again gaining ground

While France has reached the symbolic threshold of 50 million inhabitants with a complete vaccination schedule (at least two doses) this Friday evening, an epidemic resumption has been observed since mid-October.

The same goes for critical care services that receive the most serious cases where 1,039 people are listed, against 1,007 a week ago.

Hospitals reported 44 new admissions (67 the day before) compared to 42 seven days ago.

More than 51.2 million French people have received a dose of vaccine

Unfortunately, 22 deaths from infection were identified in hospitals on Saturday (23 last Saturday).

The figures published at the weekend are often underestimated due to partial feedback of data from hospital structures.

At the national level, the incidence rate (proportion of new cases in the population)

was again moderately increasing (+ 11%) for the week concerned, during which it amounted to 56.9 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants versus 51.1 a week ago, that is - say more than the alert threshold of 50.

This threshold is also exceeded in at least 44 metropolitan departments and is increasing or stable in all regions.

Be careful, however, since the end of reimbursement for tests for non-vaccinated people (with some exceptions), the number of tests has fallen sharply.

On the vaccination side, 51,200,135 people received a first injection and 50,006,445 French people have a complete vaccination schedule, according to figures from the Ministry of Health.

Arrived in Rome for the G 20 summit, President Macron recalled France's objectives within the framework of the Covax vaccine donation program for the poorest countries.
