Around 4,200 kilograms of cocaine have been seized in containers in the port of Rotterdam.
It was the largest amount of drugs that was discovered this year, as the public prosecutor in Rotterdam announced.
According to the judiciary, the cocaine had a sales value of around 313 million euros on the street.
The drugs were hidden in sacks filled with soy and in two containers.
According to the judiciary, the load of soy came from Paraguay, had been transferred to another ship in Uruguay and was to be delivered to a company in Portugal.
The cocaine has since been destroyed.
The port of Rotterdam is the largest in Europe and is considered one of the largest transshipment points for drugs on the continent.
In the past week, investigators had seized several large loads of cocaine from South America in the port.
For example, 930 kilograms of cocaine were found in a container with used deep-frying fat.
Investigators had previously discovered around 530 kilograms of cocaine in a ship.
