On Friday, the palace then announced that, on the advice of her doctors, she would take a break for "at least two weeks" and only perform "light tasks" such as video switching.

The Queen also canceled her participation in the World Climate Conference in Glasgow, Scotland.

In a press release, the palace expressed the Queen's regret for not being able to attend the events. It went on: "The Queen's firm decision remains that she will take part in the national memorial service for Remembrance Day on Sunday, November 14th." fought in the world wars.

She was hospitalized for the penultimate time in 2013 because of a gastrointestinal virus.

Most recently, however, the Queen was seen with a stick for the first time in years.

The 95-year-old is also said to have given up riding.
