(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 01 - Record of new cases of Covid in Greece which recorded 5,449 infections, the highest number since the beginning of the pandemic.

52 new deaths have also been recorded, for a total of 15,990, also a very high number in a country of only 11 million inhabitants.
The government spokesman, Giannis Oikonomou, stressed that the priority is to increase the number of vaccinated people, which today stands at only 60.5% of the population.
"As long as there are unvaccinated people, the virus finds a fertile ground to spread, he said. (ANSA).
