The scene took place Sunday evening in Vaulx-en-Velin.
A video filmed by a passer-by and broadcast by the Lyon-based media Lyon Mag shows an individual depositing a flaming cardboard box on a TCL line C3 bus, on which were passengers.
Immediately, the bus driver manages to extract these elements on fire from the vehicle and throw them on the road.
A few seconds later, the arsonist repeats his gesture, again trying to start a fire in the bus, before the driver again throws the burning pieces out of the bus.

A second video, posted by the Lyon site, this time shows an individual being hit, it seems by one or more witnesses to the scene, while on the ground elements continue to burn.
It took the intervention of passers-by to put an end to the lynching, reports the Lyon media.
No one was reportedly injured, but the transport network was disrupted as a result of this incident.
It is not yet known whether the perpetrator or others were arrested.
