(ANSA) - ROME, NOVEMBER 03 - Already at the 2020 Berlin Film Festival, UNANNO CON SALINGER (MY SALINGER YEAR), in the hall with Academy Twod from 11 November, tells the literary world of New York in the Nineties with humor and sweetness. By PhilippeFalardeau, Oscar-nominated director for 'Monsieur Lazhar' and based on the novel ONE YEAR WITH SALINGER by Joanna Rakoff (NeriPozza), the film stars Oscar nominee Sigourney Weaver and Margaret Qualley, recently seen in the latest film by Tarantino, ONCE UPON A TIME ... HOLLYWOOD and protagonist of MAID.

We are in the New York of the 90s (even if everything was shot in Montreal). Here, after leaving college to pursue her dream of becoming a writer, Joanna (Qualley) is hired as an assistant to Margaret (Weaver), the relentless literary agent of JD Salinger, a shy author of a legendary classic: THE YOUNG HOLDEN. His job is to review the huge amount of letters addressed to the novelist from all over the world. But in front of the excited words of the fans, a small miracle happens: Joannasi refuses to respond with the impersonal standard letter imposed by the agency. And so, hidden from Margaret's stern eyes, the girl begins to personalize her responses with unpredictable, exciting, comical and touching consequences.
