A passenger who was fully vaccinated against coronary heart disease and infected with the virus was found dead in his seat after landing the plane in which he was flying.

The air crew of the Turkish low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines found the 51-year-old man lifeless in his seat after landing flight number 1043 from Istanbul to Hamburg, Germany.

The Daily Mail reports that the Russian-born passenger lived in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein.

It was further stated that the official cause of the man's death is not yet clear at this stage, although local reports claim that he suffered from a number of previous serious illnesses, which were not specified.

The case, which has just been released, happened last Monday, October 25, at about 1 p.m.

The pathologists who performed the postmortem on the man concluded that he probably died during the flight itself and not at the end.

They noted that he was found to be positive for the corona virus, but at this stage it is not yet clear if he suffered any symptoms during the days before his death.

Did the other passengers notice?

The passenger, whose name was not released, was allowed to board the plane in Istanbul after presenting evidence that he was fully resilient.

According to the entry restrictions imposed by Germany on visitors to the country, this information must be presented before boarding the aircraft.

In this way, potential visitors to Germany have a duty to get vaccinated, present proof that they have recovered from corona or present a negative test for the virus.

The Turkish airline said that "we express our condolences to the family and the passengers who sat next to him on the flight."

Local media outlets reporting the incident did not specify whether on the same flight, which lasted three hours and 25 minutes, the passengers sitting next to the man noticed that he had passed away.

It was also not reported whether he was traveling alone or not, although it was hinted that the man was flying alone.

After the incident, the passengers sitting next to him, as well as members of the plane’s air crew, were required to report to the local health bureau.
