A beverage manufacturer who sells its products at Rewe, among others, is recalling several varieties.
They can burst without any outside influence.
Swelling - The fact that carbon dioxide can develop enormous pressure in beverages is shown again and again when a bottle is shaken.
Half as wild.
But if a product defect is involved, the pressure can become a real danger.
That is why a popular beverage manufacturer, whose products are on the shelves in almost all large supermarkets, has to recall several of its soft drinks at the same time.
In the course of a quality control, fermentation was found in individual bottles, as the Rhineland-Palatinate beverage manufacturer Brandengetränke Schwollen GmbH announced on Wednesday evening (October 27).
This could lead to alcohol formation in the drinks concerned and the bottles to burst, said the company based in Schwollen in the Birkenfeld district.
Available in all supermarkets: recall of several "Berg Quellen" drinks
The recalled products are popular “Berg Quellen” soft drinks.
These products are affected:
"Berg Quellen apple spritzer reusable glass bottle 0.7 l" (best before 23.06.22)
"Berg Quellen Iso Sport Pink Grape returnable glass bottle 0.7 l" (best before 18.06.22)
"Berg Quellen Iso Sport Grape Lemon returnable glass bottle 0.7 l" (best before 06/18/22)
You can find the best before date on the bottom right of the bottle's main label.
According to the manufacturer, the recalled drinks were mainly sold in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland as well as in Baden-Württemberg, North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse.
The affected products were delivered to many large supermarket chains, as the company
explains
at the request of
Merkur.de
, including Edeka, Rewe, Kaufland, Netto, Real and Globus.
In addition, the recalled drinks were also on the shelves at Alldrink, Frey & Kissel, Fristo, Getränke Hoffmann, Kunzler, Hit and Wasgau.
“Smaller quantities were also sold to small beverage retailers.
The customers and dealers were informed and instructed in accordance with their specified procedures, ”the manufacturer reports.

Recall of "Berg Quellen" beverages: This is how you recognize the bottles
It is strongly advised to take a closer look at the glass bottles - not only on the label, but also on the bottom of the bottle: "Affected bottles can be recognized by the formation of sediment," explained Brandengetränken Schwollen GmbH.
Other best-before dates or products of the “Berg Quellen” brand are not affected by fermentation.
Recalls are not uncommon: For example, the Alnatura organic chain recently had to withdraw a product because of dangerous bacteria.
The realization that counterfeit coffee is in circulation in Germany, which can cause internal bleeding, also caused quite a stir.
If you have bought soft drinks affected by the recall,
produktwarnung.eu
advises
you
to empty the bottles carefully.
“The purchase price will of course be reimbursed in the shop upon presentation of the emptied bottles of the affected products,” it says.
