A bite of peace

"Bite of Peace" is the first initiative of its kind in Israel, of the "Freedom Farm", a rehabilitative shelter for survivors of the food industry - already thinking ahead. For the first time, the Freedom Farm, in honor of International Vegan Month, embarks on a cross-Israel culinary journey that opens the heart to the animal food industries and provokes an intriguing discussion. For two weeks from November 1st to 15th, the Bite of Peace food truck will travel around the country, serve vegan dishes at no cost and spark discussion with random diners. The journey will be accompanied by media man and presenter Shai Goldstein.

The exciting project was born in May - a month that every Israeli remembers due to the violence that swept Israel. In a random conversation between the founders of the farm and one of its donors, they were given a task - to make people open their hearts and minds and understand that violence is first removed from the plate. Months after this conversation the project takes shape.

Today, Wednesday 3 November, you can meet the vegan track at the University of Haifa between 11: 00-15: 00 at an event for students and a lecture by Edith Romano, co-founder of the Freedom Farm.

On Friday, November 12, the vegan track will arrive at the Lod market, and on Saturday, November 13, you are invited to meet the vegan shawarma at the entrance plaza of Big Fashion Ashdod.

Additional events will be added to the Freedom Farm website during the month.

Benedict's Rattle Festival returns

If beer and chocolate have festivals all over the world, there is probably no reason why Shakshuka should not.

From the beginning of November and for an entire month, the Shakshuka Fest Festival will be held for the third year in all Benedict restaurants, dedicated entirely to one of the most Israeli dishes that will receive various interpretations and matchmaking by the chain.

On the menu you will find, for example, ceramic corn polenta, cauliflower cream with colored carrots and asparagus, peas and broccoli, Chinese-style shakshuka with minced meat, chickpeas with falafel, vegan shakshuka with vegan eggs and of course a classic one.

All dishes will include boiled or poached eggs served with handmade brioche challah and dips.

The festivities will take place at all Benedict branches
