A 25-year-old in Schleswig-Holstein wanted to fell a fir tree using YouTube instructions and a borrowed chainsaw - but this went wrong in two senses.
The young woman had borrowed the saw because the ten-meter-high tree was disturbing the neighbors.
"The result did not quite match that of the video tutorial," said the police.
Because: During the work, the fir tree standing between two single-family houses threatened to fall in the wrong direction.
The fire brigade had to move in to prevent major damage.
She secured the tree with a steel cable.
Rescue workers removed branches using a turntable ladder and chainsaw and shortened the fir tree by up to two thirds.
However, the last third fell over and damaged a privacy screen.
Nobody got hurt.
The conclusion of the police: "Calling a specialist company would have been the better option in this case."
