Shortly before the end of the year, there will be innovations at Google and Paypal.

In addition, two laws that have already been passed will come into force in November.

Munich - November starts with two new laws that should be of interest to consumers, including the appearance of the new catalog of fines.

And there are also changes at companies like PayPal and Google that are important for users to know.

New catalog of fines 2021: fines increased from November

Announced on October 19, 2021 in the Federal Law Gazette, valid from November 9: The Amendment to the Catalog of Fines Ordinance. According to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, the revision of the catalog of fines is intended to "improve safety in road traffic and in general and especially for bicycle and pedestrian traffic". The measures adopted for this include, above all, "deterrent fines" - wrong parking (up to 110 euros, plus one point in Flensburg for more serious violations) and speeding violations (a fine of up to 800 euros is possible for normal cars up to 3.5 t) will become more expensive . In addition, the amendment also includes a regulation for so-called auto-posing for the first time.Causing "unnecessary noise and avoidable pollution as well as unnecessary driving back and forth" can be punished with fines of up to 100 euros. The exact fines can be viewed on the website of the Federal Ministry.

Corona: No compensation for loss of earnings for unvaccinated people from November 2021

So far, the following regulation has applied: If you could not do your job in the case of a corona quarantine, the state paid the wage compensation, both for vaccinated and unvaccinated people.

Specifically, the employer made an advance payment and received the money back from the state on application.

This compensation for loss of earnings will no longer be available for unvaccinated people from November onwards.

The federal and state health ministers decided on September 22nd.

Of course, there are still exceptions for people who cannot be vaccinated for health reasons.

Even before the decision, individual federal states, above all Baden-Württemberg, had decided to exclude unvaccinated people from compensation for loss of earnings.

The competence for the implementation lies with the federal states.

The decision is specifically about loss of earnings due to a state-ordered quarantine, for example through contact with an infected person.

This is more relevant for unvaccinated people, because quarantine requirements do not apply to fully vaccinated people in most cases.

In the event of illness, employees - regardless of their vaccination status - are still entitled to continued payment of their wages.

From November 2021: PayPal fees will increase after Brexit

The regulation initially only affects companies, but could still have an impact on consumers. Starting November 10th, new fees will apply to merchants making payments between the UK and Europe. The fee is then 1.29 percent - for countries outside the EU a rate of 1.99 percent applies, within the EU it is 0.5 percent. The increase may make UK products more expensive.

In addition, the renewal of the General Terms and Conditions will come into effect on November 10th.

This creates the basis for the new payment method "Payment after 30 days" - previously it was only possible to pay directly or after 14 days.

On November 8th, all existing PayPal money pools will also be dissolved - PayPal will then transfer the remaining amounts directly to the accounts of the respective users on November 15th.

Google Play Store: Change from November 2021

So far, Android users have been able to view app ratings from all over the world in the Google Play Store.

This function will be restricted from November.

The ratings are then only displayed for their own country.

This step is justified by the fact that in some countries different app functions are offered and the ratings can therefore be different and no longer have a common assessment basis.
