(ANSA) - PARIS, 05 NOV - The former mission charge to the Elysée Alexandre Benalla, formerly a trusted man of Emmanuel Macron, was sentenced today to 3 years in prison, one without conditionality with the benefit of an electronic bracelet, perviolence and usurpation of the police officer during the demonstration on May 1, 2018.
Macron's former close associate, 30, was also found guilty of fraudulently using his diplomatic passports after his dismissal, preparing a false document to obtain a service passport and of illegal carrying of weapons.
Benalla was surprised - thanks to the shots of a video broadcast by the French media - with a policeman's helmet in the middle of agents while he was beating up some very young demonstrators in the Latin quarter.
