Nine days after a fire in the Galeria Kaufhof on Berlin's Alexanderplatz, it burned again there.

As the fire brigade announced early Monday evening, the building was evacuated.

According to initial findings, clothes were burning in the basement of the department store, said a fire department spokesman.

People were not harmed.

According to their own information, the fire brigade came with 60 emergency services, but no longer had to extinguish.

The fire was extinguished by a sprinkler system, it said in a Twitter post.

Accordingly, half a cubic meter of textiles burned.

The building had to be evacuated on October 30th due to a fire.

Three people were injured at the time.

The police arrested a 26-year-old.

He is said to have set objects on fire on the fourth floor of the department store.

Due to a corresponding illness, he was placed in a psychiatric hospital, according to the police.
