(ANSA) - PARIS, 08 NOV - A man armed with a knife attacked a police officer flying a car in front of a police station in Cannes this morning at dawn, saying he was acting "in the name of the prophet".
The officer wore a bulletproof vest and was unharmed.
Then the attacker circled the vehicle and attempted to stab a second policeman who was on board.
At that point a third policeman took up his service weapon and fired, severely injuring him.
"The trail of terrorism is being evaluated," French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said on Twitter.
