Key hidden under the doormat?
Robbers have such an easy game.
No thief will find this secret place - it's not the flower box.
Anyone who has ever locked themselves out of their apartment knows how expensive a locksmith is.
In order to avoid unnecessary costs, many use a replacement key *.
But what is the
best hiding place
?
Gone are the days when spare keys were placed under the doormat or in a flower pot.
Burglars have long known the most common and popular key hiding spots
.
That is why you should think of more original hiding places for the duplicate key.
Good key hiding place: no burglar is guaranteed to suspect a replacement key here
How about a
drainpipe,
for example
?
It would never occur to intruders that the entrance ticket to your home is hidden in a small, possibly foul-smelling pipe.
But don't worry, there is no need to dig huge holes in the garden or relocate pipes.
With a drainpipe set, an adhesive strip, sturdy cord and a small hoe, you can easily create the perfect hiding place for your spare key yourself.

How to make your own dummy drainpipe for the spare key
Assemble the drain pipe set.
Tie the key to the string and secure the other end inside the pipe.
Find a suitable, inconspicuous place in the garden on the house facade.
Here you dig a hole into which you stick the pipe.
Then just attach the connecting part of the pipe to the house wall (e.g. with double-sided adhesive tape).
Alternative hiding places for the spare key
If it is absolutely necessary to use the doormat as a hiding place, you can cut open some of the doormats, place the key in them and then glue the hiding place shut.
Alternatively, it is of course always a good idea to leave a duplicate key with neighbors, friends or relatives in an emergency
.
