The public prosecutor's office in Dresden has closed the investigation against the alleged left-wing extremist Lina E. because of the attack on the authorized representative of a Leipzig real estate company.
The public prosecutor announced on Monday that the involvement in the crime could not be proven with the certainty necessary to bring an indictment.
The authorized signatory was attacked and injured in her apartment in 2019.
The investigation into another suspect has also been discontinued, the public prosecutor said.
The case had been investigated for dangerous bodily harm.
Masked people had attacked the general manager in her apartment and severely injured them with fist blows.
Lina E. and three other defendants have been on trial in Dresden on another matter since September.
They are said to have committed attacks on right-wing extremists.
E. is accused of having assumed a prominent position in the group and of having been in command of some of the attacks.
