Princess Charlène returned to Monaco on Monday after a long absence.

She had spent most of the year in her native South Africa, after which rumors began to circulate that her marriage to Prince Albert had broken down.

The royal family had denied this.

Charlène stayed so long in South Africa for medical reasons, the palace said.

He published photos on Monday showing the former swimmer with her husband and children walking the dog in Monaco.

Accordingly, she landed in Nice in a private jet that morning.

"Princess Charlène is finally reunited with her husband Prince Albert and the children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabrielle," said the post on Instagram.

The couple married in 2011, and three years later Charlène gave birth to twins.

In September, the 43-year-old was treated in a clinic in South Africa after suffering a severe ear, nose and throat infection.

In mid-October, a photo of her on Instagram caused concern because she looked very fragile and thin on it.

"It was a challenging time here, but at the same time it was wonderful to be back in South Africa," said Charlène as he said goodbye on the tarmac at Durban's King Shaka International Airport.

With a curtsy, she accepted a gift basket from dignitaries of the KwaZulu-Natal province and thanked the doctors for their support during her illness.

Her sister-in-law Chantell Wittstock, who accompanied her on the flight, confirmed that morning: “The Princess has just landed in Monaco;

she is in a good mood and very excited to be home again. "Charlène's father was relieved:" Thank God she is back home, "said Mike Wittstock of the dpa news agency in Johannesburg.

Commitment to poaching

The princess had originally traveled to South Africa to support the fight against rhino poaching.

She had visited a nature reserve where rangers dehorn rhinos to protect them from poachers.

A little later she reported to the local media that an oral surgery performed before her trip had delayed her return to Europe in the small principality.

When flying at great heights, she cannot compensate for the pressure in the ears.

She was stuck in the coastal province of KwaZulu-Natal, where she had trained for her career as a competitive swimmer.

She even spent her tenth wedding anniversary in the Cape, where she says she still has strong emotional ties.

The princess passed the time sewing blankets for poor children, showed herself in khaki clothes when visiting her family in the bush and spoke out on animal welfare.

She caused a sensation nationwide when she mingled with the mourners for a late Zulu king and paid him her final respects.
