A 16-year-old girl who has been missing for days in North Carolina was saved thanks to a hand gesture known on TikTok to report domestic violence and ask for help. A motorist noticed on the back of another car traveling the same highway the minor making the gesture of the palm of the hand that closes on the folded thumb, a sign invented by the Canadian Women's Foundation and conveyed on social media to give women a tool of defense against abuses and being able to report them without speaking. The driver, recognizing the significance of that move, immediately called 911, the number of emergencies in the United States, and following the vehicle with the girl on board for several kilometers helped the police to intercept it. The man on board was arrested and the girl rescued. AND'she was the one who explained that she learned the gesture on TikTok.
