From the fourth, middle and high school students will be able to benefit from the Culture Pass from January 2022, announced the Minister of Culture Roselyne Bachelot on Tuesday, in front of the Senate.

These 300 euros intended to facilitate access to events and cultural goods were initially reserved for 18-year-olds.

Last May, Emmanuel Macron had already mentioned the possibility of expanding the beneficiaries of this boost.

The "success" of this measure, materializing an electoral promise from Emmanuel Macron, "obliges us and must mobilize us even more," said Roselyne Bachelot, presenting to senators the Culture budget for 2022.

“Since May 20, nearly 641,000 18-year-old users have benefited from a loan of 300 euros (…) If we add the young people enrolled in the experiment, more than 800,000 young people today use this application ”, welcomed the Minister.

From the 4th grade, students will be able to benefit from offers developed as part of collective projects led by teachers.

The amount of this collective part "is exclusively dedicated to the financing of artistic and cultural education activities carried out in groups and supervised by the teachers", specified the decree published on November 7 in the Official Journal.

A collective share and an individual budget

"There will also be an individual part which will allow young people from the age of 15 to start making their own choices, in the logic of emancipation which governs the Culture pass", specified the Minister of Culture on Tuesday. .

Each beneficiary of the “individual share” has a personal digital account allowing them to acquire cultural goods and benefit from the cultural services offered by means of the geolocated application “Culture Pass”.

The beneficiaries will be able to spend the credit on tickets (cinema, concert, show, museum, etc.), cultural goods (books, records, instruments, etc.), courses in artistic disciplines, fine art equipment or digital services (video games , online music, some SVOD platforms, online press, ebooks…).
