Wearing a mask will again be compulsory in elementary school from Monday throughout France, the Ministry of Education announced on Tuesday, after President Emmanuel Macron's speech.
"From next Monday, all the departments go to level 2 of the sanitary protocol", with "again wearing the mask for all the students" of the elementary school indicated the ministry.
Since the start of the All Saints holidays on Monday, students from 61 departments wear the mask again.
They will therefore be followed, from next Monday, by those of the other departments of metropolitan France.

As the World Health Organization points out in a brochure published at the end of September, children can not only be infected but also "transmit [the virus] to other people".
This is evidenced, for example, by several clusters identified in primary school.
