Missy Elliott in Hollywood: Long Road to Fame

Her debut album "Supa Dupa Fly" came out in 1997, songs like "Get Ur Freak On", "Work It", "The Rain" or "All N My Grill" were big hits.
Missy Elliott also wrote songs for stars like Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child, Pink, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston.
Now she was given a great honor: she received a star plaque with her name on Hollywood's "Walk of Fame".
Visibly moved, the musician spoke of her long path to fame.
She wanted to thank God, because only with his support did she master problems such as depression and anxiety, said the rapper in front of fans and reporters.
Her colleagues Ciara and Lizzo attended the ceremony in the heart of Hollywood as guest speakers.
For her, Missy Elliott was "the brightest star" in the world, said Lizzo. "You don't even know what you've done for so many black girls."
Lizzo praised the "Queen of Hip-Hop" as an important pioneer.
