The new deaths include two women aged 63 and 90 and two men 81 and 98 years old: The Brandenburg retirement home in Schorfheide on the Werbellinsee is still struggling with a corona outbreak.
Four other residents have now died after suffering from Covid 19, as the Barnim district confirmed on Tuesday when asked.
This increases the number to a total of 16 deaths.
According to the district, only half of the staff is vaccinated and twelve employees are still in quarantine at home.
Several media had reported about it.
According to the carrier, the staff in the home in northwest Brandenburg has been tested every day since the outbreak.
"There is consternation and consternation," said the spokesman for the community Schorfheide, Ulf Kampf.
The community is in constant contact with the residents of the home, for example when someone celebrates their 100th birthday.
Since the retirement home is no longer in municipal ownership, there are fewer points of contact.
Mayor Wilhelm Westerkamp (Bündnis Schorfheide) had spoken out in favor of compulsory vaccination for nurses.
Fine proceedings have already been initiated against the head of the retirement home because he is said to have re-entered the home after a positive corona test.
