4 tbsp rum
1 tbsp lemon juice
200 g butter
180 g of sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
4 eggs
200 grams of flour
120 g ground hazelnuts

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1 pinch of salt

This is how easy it is to bake the Spanish apple pie
First, preheat the oven to 175 ° C top / bottom heat or 155 ° C convection.
Grease the springform pan with butter.
Peel, core and cut the apples into 1-2 cm cubes.
Mix the apple cubes with the rum and lemon juice and let them steep for an hour.
Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar with the hand mixer until creamy.
Add the eggs one after the other and stir them in for one minute each.
Mix the dry ingredients: flour, ground hazelnuts, cocoa, cinnamon, baking powder and salt.
Fold this mixture into the egg, butter and sugar mixture.
Don't stir too long!
Finally fold in the apples, pour the batter into the springform pan and smooth it out.
Bake the Spanish apple pie in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes.
Do the chopsticks test at the end.
Then take the apple pie out of the oven and let it cool before lifting it out of the pan, cutting it into pieces and serving.
The Spanish apple cake tastes great on its own, but you can also serve a scoop of vanilla ice cream with each piece.
