President Emmanuel Macron's televised address on Tuesday evening was followed by 20.9 million viewers on all the channels which broadcast it, according to figures from Médiamétrie.
The intervention of the Head of State obtained an overall audience share of 79.6%, all categories of viewers combined.
In detail, it was followed by 8.1 million viewers on TF1, 7 million on France 2 and 2.7 million on M6.

The speech was also broadcast on TMC during the “Quotidien” program, as well as on the news channels BFMTV, LCI and CNews.
The last presidential statement in July had gathered a total of 22.4 million viewers on all the channels which broadcast it.
The audience peaks reached during Emmanuel Macron's official speeches date from March-April 2020, during the first wave of the Covid-19 epidemic.
According to Médiamétrie figures, 36.7 million viewers had thus followed his speech of April 13, 2020 (extension of confinement) and 35.4 million that of March 16, 2020 (establishment of the first confinement).
