(ANSA) - PALERMO, 10 NOV - A total of 430 migrants, including 13 minors, were on board the fishing boat that ran aground in front of the Levante pier in the port of Pozzallo last night.

The refugee transshipment operations carried out with some rubber boats and a tugboat ended at 2 am.

The migrants, who appeared to be in good health, were transferred to the municipal gym to undergo anti-Covid health checks.

They should be boarded on a quarantine ship this morning.

The welcome machine was coordinated by the mayor of Pozzallo Roberto Ammatuna, who kept in constant contact with the Prefecture of Ragusa.
