For many companies and employees, short-time allowance * is a real lifeline.
During the pandemic, access to short-time work benefits was made easier in order to preserve jobs that were at risk due to lost orders.
The simplified access to short-time work allowance has now been extended again.
Easier access to short-time work allowance extended until March 31, 2022
“The plan is
to extend
the duration of short-time work allowance by a maximum of 24 months and the access relief introduced during the crisis by a further three months
until March 31, 2022
,” reported the German Press Agency, referring to statements made by a spokeswoman for the Federal Ministry of Labor.
A corresponding draft ordinance was put into the vote within the government, it says in the report.
According to the spokeswoman, the economic consequences of the Corona crisis can still be felt, and many companies continue to suffer from disrupted supply chains.

In terms of access relief, it is currently sufficient, among other things, if
at least ten percent of employees
are affected by absence from work, instead of the usual one third of employees.
By the way, if you reject short-time work benefits, you may be dismissed.
