It is always difficult, even risky, to retrace the history of ceramics in an exhibition, so long, diverse, sharp, beautiful or strange it is. In 2016, Sèvres, La Maison rouge du collector Antoine de Galbert in Paris and the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht (Netherlands) presented, via the two pioneers Camille Morineau and Lucia Pesapane, “Ceramix, de Rodin à Schütte”, an exhibition in two times and three places. Thanks to loans from major museums, from the Museo internazionale della ceramica de Faenza to the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London to the Petit Palais in Paris, and from passionate collectors, this walk through the subject showed 250 works and 100 artists from of 25 nationalities which shed light on the relationship between art and ceramics in the 20th and 21st centuries.The subject is far from being exhausted.
