The Swedish group made a successful comeback after forty years of absence with a new album "Voyage", released on Friday November 5th.

Who would've believed that ?

After forty years of absence, ABBA is making a triumphant return with its album "Voyage", which takes first place on Friday with 38,598 records sold, including 35,000 in CDs and 5,800 vinyl records.

In front of the “Organized Classico”, a triple album which brings together rappers from Marseille and Paris, and “Le monde est méchant”, the new Niska.

At the same time, their 1992 compilation “ABBA Gold” returned to the top spot with 1,800 sales.

ABBAcadabra.

The group of septuagenarians not only achieved the fourth start of the year, behind the Enfoirés (118,000 sales) and the rappers SCH (63,851) and Booba (39,118), but also the best launch for international artists, ahead of the Belgian Damso and Briton Ed Sheeran.

“Voyage” also achieved the second performance of the year in physical sales (CDs and vinyls), behind the last show of the Restos du Cœur troupe.

The Swedish quartet is number one in dozens of countries, starting with Great Britain, its second homeland, where it had already sold 198,000 “Voyage” mid-week - 2021 record across the Channel - and Germany, where he had sold 150,000 copies in three days.

It must be said that Universal had bet big by setting up 4 million discs in stores around the world.

And no less than 400,000 had been pre-ordered by fans.

Their concert in London is also already a success.

This show announced as "unique in the world" where the two singers and the two musicians will be replaced by holograms and a live group in a room built and fitted out to welcome it is sold out from May to September 2022. Just the first three days sales, 250,000 tickets were snapped up.

A few days before unveiling his new album, Björn Ulvaeus, one of the ABBAs, admitted that he had taken a big risk with this double comeback, on record and on stage.

“A huge one,” he even admitted.

But life is about taking risks.

This is what makes her exciting.

We can bet that a week later, the four friends must be both excited and reassured.
