A collective of unions and citizens of Guadeloupe is calling for a "general strike" from Monday on the island to protest against the vaccine obligation and the suspensions of caregivers in all sectors.
The unions refuse that "all health workers", including those from National Education or Pôle Emploi, receive "their suspension letter on Monday", they write in a press release.
"Thousands of Guadeloupeans are being thrown into the street, without delay of dispute," insisted Maïté Hubert-M'Toumo, secretary general of the General Union of Workers of Guadeloupe (UGTG), calling for "strengthening of existing pickets.
If the Regional Health Agency underlined Wednesday "good adherence to vaccination" with 85% of caregivers "all establishments combined" now vaccinated, the agency continues to deplore "pockets of resistance" to "unacceptable" actions.

The CHU lodged a complaint for endangering the lives of others after a strike preventing the timely delivery of meal trays for patients last Monday.
Two days later, the management also deplored "power cuts" and "damage".
