After months of proceedings, twists and turns and mobilization behind the hashtag #freebritney, a Los Angeles court decided this Friday to return control of her life to singer Britney Spears by lifting the guardianship measure that had weighed on her for thirteen years.
“Guardianship over Britney Spears' person and property ceases effective today.
That is the court ruling, ”said case judge Brenda Penny.
The young woman had certainly already won her case in court by obtaining the suspension of her father Jamie Spears from the role of guardian, which she had been asking publicly for months.
But Britney Spears was above all asking for the right to regain control of her personal life, which Judge Penny finally granted her on Friday.
