The Covid is synonymous with upheaval. The Night of the Depression, acclaimed live show that we owe to actor Raphaël Mezrahi, usually brings together (even if habits can be depressing) singers and comedians for a single date in February in a large Parisian hall. This year, the event changes its name to become “The year of the blues (and even a little more…)”, a sad nod to the Covid-19 pandemic. Likewise, the program will make the public cry with laughter - or just cry - not in February, but on November 29 at the Folies Bergère.
This eighth edition, sponsored by Thomas Dutronc, has already announced its headliners.
Regulars such as comedian Laurent Baffie, singer Nolwenn Leroy or even trumpeter Romain Leleu, this time accompanied by his younger brother Thomas, will follow one another on stage to perform sketches and songs, all that is most depressing in their repertoire.
Other names are also expected, such as Sheila, Gaëtan Roussel, Nicoletta, Julie Zenatti, Benabar or even Barbara Pravi.
100,000 euros for the animal cause
Since 2013, La Nuit de la déprime has been committed to donating its profits to various animal protection associations.
Raphaël Mezrahi donated part of the proceeds for the 2019 edition to the Brigitte Bardot Foundation to allow the rescue of two donkeys in La Manche.
Reported by a hiker for their alarming condition, the animals were rescued and then received in one of the Foundation's three shelters.
The following year, the latter was present to distribute leaflets
"Do not buy, adopt!"
and badges against animal fur in the audience of the Folies Bergère.
In total, this evening, which is not bleak, was able to collect nearly 100,000 euros for the benefit of the animal cause.
