Until a while ago, the ATP Finals was a tournament called the Masters. Founded in 1970, this competition traditionally concludes the tennis season. The ATP Finals is considered the most prestigious men's tennis tournament on the circuit after the four Grand Slam matches. This end-of-year Masters pits the eight best players in the world against each other in a single tournament (hence its former names of “Masters tournament” and “Masters”). Its format? Two pools of 4 players, where only the two best at the end of the 3 matches find themselves directly in the semi-finals. The first of the first pool then faces the second of the second pool, and vice versa. Since 2009, the ATP Finals have been taking place inside the O2 Arena in London. For this 2021 edition,change of scenery because it is in Turin that the Masters takes place.
