Several shots were fired in Hamburg's Phoenix district on Sunday.
The incident was reported around 3:20 p.m., said an employee of the police situation service.
The background to the act is still completely unclear.
Two people were seriously injured by the shots in the Harburg district, as reported by the "Hamburger Morgenpost" and the "Hamburger Abendblatt".
According to the »Morgenpost«, the police are currently looking for the perpetrator (s).
Traffic in the area has been cordoned off.
Police officers armed with submachine guns secured the crime scene and were also on duty around the Phoenix Center shopping mall and the train station.
